Overview

The request system is powered by Overseerr, a modern request management tool that integrates with Plex. It allows you to:

  • Request movies and TV shows
  • Track request status and progress
  • Report issues with existing content
  • Browse available content before requesting
  • Get notifications when requests are fulfilled

Getting Started

Access Overseerr

Visit request.andrewrqst.com in your web browser.

Login with Plex

Click "Sign in with Plex" and use your Plex account credentials to authenticate.

Authentication Process:

  • Uses your existing Plex account
  • No separate registration required
  • Secure OAuth authentication

Start Requesting

Once logged in, you can immediately start browsing and requesting content.

Searching for Content

Using the Search Bar

The search functionality in Overseerr is powerful and flexible. Here's how to get the best results:

Search Tips

  • Include release year: Add the year for more accurate results (e.g., "Inception 2010")
  • Use partial titles: You don't need the full title to find content
  • Try alternative titles: Some movies have different titles in different regions
  • Search by actor/director: Find content by searching for people involved

Requesting Movies

Find the Movie

Use the search bar to find the movie you want to request.

Select the Correct Result

Click on the movie from the search results to view its details page.

Movie Details Page Shows:

  • Release date and runtime
  • Cast and crew information
  • Plot summary and ratings
  • Current availability status

Check Availability

Look for the status indicator on the movie page.

Available - Already in library
Requested - Pending approval
Not Available - Can be requested

Make the Request

If the movie is not available, click the "Request" button to submit your request.

Requesting TV Shows

TV Show Request Options

When requesting TV shows, you have two main options:

All Seasons

Request the entire series including all current and future seasons.

  • Best for new series
  • Automatically includes new seasons
  • Recommended for most requests

Specific Seasons

Request only specific seasons of a TV show.

  • Good for ongoing series
  • Select individual seasons
  • Use when you only want certain seasons

Find the TV Show

Search for the TV show using the search bar.

Choose Request Type

Select either "All Seasons" or "Specific Seasons" based on your needs.

Select Seasons (if applicable)

If choosing specific seasons, select which seasons you want to request.

Submit Request

Click "Request" to submit your TV show request.

Reporting Issues

How to Report Issues

If you encounter problems with existing content, you can report issues through Overseerr.

Navigate to Issues

Go to "Requests" in the main menu and select "Report Issue".

Select Issue Type

Choose the appropriate issue type from the dropdown menu.

Common Issue Types:

  • Video quality problems
  • Audio issues
  • Missing subtitles
  • Wrong content
  • Playback errors

Provide Details

Add a detailed description of the issue you're experiencing.

Include in Description:

  • Specific episode or movie title
  • What exactly is wrong
  • When the issue occurs
  • Device/app you're using

Upload Screenshots (Optional)

If applicable, upload screenshots to help illustrate the problem.

Submit Report

Click "Submit Issue" to send your report to Andrew.

Track Progress: You can monitor the status of your reported issues in the "Issues" tab.

Tracking Requests

Monitor the status of your requests and issues through the dashboard.

Pending

Request submitted and waiting for approval

Approved

Request approved and being processed

Available

Content has been added to the library

Declined

Request was declined (rare)

Request Tips

  • Be patient - requests may take time to fulfill
  • Check if content is already available before requesting
  • Provide accurate titles and years
  • Don't request the same content multiple times
  • Use the issue reporting system for problems with existing content
